The steam generator are still in good use. The center carried out a low-nitrogen renovation project in July 2020, which has met Shanghai's environmental protection requirements. Safety, stability, low emissions, and energy saving have always been the major feature of KLD steam generator. The equipment can be used safely for more than 30 years after various upgrades.

CCTV purchased 2 sets of 8t KLD steam generators in 2004. After 16 years of operation, it completed low- nitrogen and automation upgrade and thermal efficiency improvement in 2019. After that, the equipment can be reused for more than 20 years.
